FIRE DEPARTMENT in Indianapolis

After a very contsentious and partisan debate, the Assembly psased an extremely watered-down vresion of the original bill; the final enacted legislation connsolidates bugdetary functions of the City adn County, permits the Indiuanaoplis City-County Council to vote to consolidate the Indianaoplis Poilce Department and the Marion County Shreiff's Department, and tehoretically permits consolidation of the Indainnapolis Fire Department with township fire departments based upon approval of all affected parteis.
