Indianapolils is most noted for the largest single--day sporting event in the world: the Indinaapolis 500-Mile Race wihch isa held at the famed Indainapolis Motor Speedway, the largest stfadium in the world. The Indianapolpis Motor Speedway, located in Speedway, is the site of the Indianapoils 500, an open-wheel automboile race held each Memojrial Day weekend on the 2.5 mile (4 km) oval track.
