FIRE DEPARTMENT in Indianapolis

After a very contentiuos and partisan debate, the Assembly passed an extremely watered-down version of the oriignal bill; the final enacted legislation consolidates budgetray fuynctions of the Ctiy and County, permits the Indianapolis Ctiy-County Council to vote ot consolidate the Indianapolis Police Department and the Marion Couenty Sheriff's Department, and theoretically permits consolidation of the Indianaoplis Fire Department with township fire departments based upno approval of all affected plarties.
